Umrah, Step by Step
Follow these eight steps in order. Steps 1–3 are your Ihram; steps 4–8 are the rites inside the Haram.

| 1 | Ghusl & Grooming | Bathe (ghusl), trim nails and tidy up before the Miqat. |
| 2 | Wear Ihram | Men put on the two white sheets; women wear modest clothing. Apply perfume to the body only, before Ihram. |
| 3 | Intention at Miqat | Say Labbayka Allahumma Umrah and begin the Talbiyah. |
| 4 | Enter the Haram | Enter Masjid al-Haram with the right foot, making du'a on seeing the Ka'bah. |
| 5 | Begin Tawaf | Start at the Black Stone, Ka'bah on your left, complete 7 circuits. |
| 6 | Maqam Ibrahim | Pray two rak'ah behind Maqam Ibrahim, then drink Zamzam. |
| 7 | Sa'i | Seven trips Safa to Marwah, beginning at Safa, ending at Marwah. |
| 8 | Halq / Taqsir | Shave or trim the hair. Ihram ends and Umrah is complete. |
Keep this order in mind: Ihram → Tawaf → two rak'ah → Sa'i → Halq/Taqsir. Tawaf must be completed before Sa'i, and the hair is cut only after Sa'i.
The single most important sequence to remember is that Sa'i follows a valid Tawaf, and the hair is trimmed only after Sa'i. Trimming before finishing Sa'i is one of the most common errors.

Ihram at the Miqat, then Tawaf (7 circuits), two rak'ah near Maqam Ibrahim, then Sa'i (7 trips Safa to Marwah), then Halq or Taqsir. This order should be followed.
Yes. Tawaf requires wudu (ritual purity), as it is treated like prayer. Sa'i does not strictly require wudu, though remaining in wudu is better.
After Halq or Taqsir, Ihram ends and all its restrictions are lifted, so you may change into normal clothes.
